The ChemClear truck is currently winding its way through Queensland, with over 350 waste holders registering in excess of 55,000 lt/kg for collection in the state this year.
With the collection now complete in far North Queensland, the truck is currently in and around Brisbane and will be heading out west next week before moving further south.
This collection signifies an important achievement for the program, as once the QLD run is complete the scheme will have disposed of half a million litres of unwanted or unknown agvet chemical across Australia since 2003.
“We will collect product from hundreds of farmers in less than six weeks. This is a remarkable feat for a small stewardship program,” said National Program Manager Lisa Nixon.
“It’s great to see chemical users really engaging with ChemClear to ensure their on-farm waste is returned back into an appropriate environmental disposal system.”
